A berry with a backstory, in Europe, the elder tree was wrapped in mystery and myth — revered by some, feared by others. Elder branches were hung on doors to ward off mischief, while in Scandinavia, its wood was carved into the very first flutes.
When elderberries found their way to Tasmania, in the cool air and fertile soils, their colour deepened, their flavour grew bolder, and their wild edge shone through.
Our Elderberry Gin celebrates this legendary fruit. Distilled with our signature Three Cuts of Rose, local native Tasmanian limes, Tasmanian elderflowers and elderberries. These beautiful berries provide a naturally deep and dusky crimson hue, with jammy richness and layers of flavour, as complex as the stories that surround them.
Nose
Bright, aromatic juniper are lifted by soft florals, opening into ripe berries and a touch of earthy spice.
Palate
Juicy forest fruits and jammy elderberry richness, meets hints of rose, citrus and warming spice.
Finish
Lingering notes of berry sweetness, with a subtle tartness, leave the palate refreshed and ready for another sip.
Serve
The striking jewel-toned hue is as inviting in the glass as it is on the palate, and makes a vibrant thirst-quenching spritz, when mixed with muddled raspberries and tonic.
